On Sunday, several celebrities attended the premiere of actress Toyin Abraham’s film ‘Iyalode’ held at the IMAX Cinema in Lekki, Lagos.
However, one moment stood out, the reunion of Ibrahim Chatta and his ex-wife, Olayinka Solomon.
Olayinka was Chatta’s first wife and the mother of his son, Malik, born in 2008. She later divorced the actor, accusing him of domestic violence.
According to Olayinka, she met the 54-year-old at Kunle Afod’s movie set ‘Tiwonsikanga’ in 2007 and they started living together in 2008 as a couple.
Following their separation, she married Olasunkanmi Mabinuori in 2021 and welcomed a baby boy with him in January.
The actor, who rose to fame for his role in the movie ‘Aiyekooto’ later married Salamatu, the daughter of former Kwara State Governor Shaaba Lafiagi, on 30 December 2012. However, the marriage ended a few years later.
The Kwara-born actor is currently married to Olaide Aishat, known as Lizzy Berry, whom he wed in 2016. While the exact number of children they had remains unconfirmed, the couple welcomed a son in 2017 and a daughter in 2020.

Reunion
A viral video obtained by PREMIUM TIMES on Monday showed Chatta interacting with Olayinka and her husband, Mabinuori.
In the video, Olayinka walked up to Chatta, who stood beside her husband, greeted him, and gave him a friendly side hug.
The video also captured a cheerful exchange between Olayinka and Chatta, while her husband sprayed money in celebration.

Meanwhile, the video sparked debate on social media.
While some netizens praised Chatta and Mabinuori for their maturity, others criticised Olayinka and her husband’s actions.
Below are some of the comments.
They still love each other, if only they knew! However, neither of them was willing to accept the compromise needed to keep the union alive. It was only after they separated that the reason became public, a silly reason. I blame Chatta for not being absorbing that as a man.

While Ibrahim Chatta’s maturity with his ex-wife is laudable, the present husband’s stance raises a question: Is this the height of Nigerian masculinity, or a quiet surrender of personal boundaries?….i can’t be that present husband

Some are saying they can’t be the second husband because of their insecurities But I sense confidence in that man as well and I sense a house well put in order he doesn’t mind celebrating with chatta And you can see the brotherly hug from chatta too it’s all love and respect

The only thing I see here is , if I’m genuinely not in love with you when we were together, no issues. But I can’t do in a case where I really love you and we later broke up. God forbid

Why do I feel something off with the woman, like the guy still dey chop here work. From her body language you notice she seems aroused by the guys presence and even almost kissed him. But maybe I am wrong

The actor last made headlines when he declared that he had no interest in the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), despite receiving a nomination in one of the event’s top categories.
Chatta, who was nominated for Best Lead Actor for his performance in House of Ga’a, lost the award to fellow actor Femi Adebayo, who starred in Seven Doors.
He stated that whenever he chooses to pursue an AMVCA, he would produce a film and submit it himself.
