ICSAN Begins Construction Of New Secretariat To Enhance Governance Practices

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), the country’s foremost professional body in governance, has commenced the construction of its new national secretariat to enhance its capacity.

The President of ICSAN, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, performed the sod-turning ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s history.

The four-storey building is designed to provide a conducive environment for ICSAN members, staff, and stakeholders to interact, learn, and share ideas on best practices in corporate governance, administration, and leadership.

ICSAN, a leading professional body in Nigeria, has been promoting ethical governance and administration for over 58 years. The Institute has contributed significantly to the country’s economic development and has produced seasoned professionals holding key positions in various sectors.

Ekundayo expressed her excitement and gratitude to members, stakeholders, and partners who have supported the Institute’s vision, saying, “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards establishing a world-class national secretariat that will serve as a beacon of excellence in corporate governance and administration in Nigeria.
“Our mission is the promotion and advancement of the efficient administration of commerce, industry, public, private, and non-governmental establishments through the continued development of the study and practice of corporate secretaryship and administration.

“The new National Secretariat building is expected to be completed shortly, and it will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern auditorium, conference rooms, library, and offices. The building will also be designed to be environmentally sustainable and accessible, reflecting ICSAN’s commitment to excellence and inclusivity.”

The turning of the sod ceremony was attended by dignitaries from various sectors, including government, professional bodies, business, and academia, who came to show their support for ICSAN’s vision and mission.
