‘Idiot This Is Nigeria, Not Sodom And Gomorrah’ – NCAC Takes Dig At Bobrisky In Deleted Post

The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has come under scrutiny after sharing a graphic Instagram post condemning Nigerian social media personality and self-proclaimed transgender, Bobrisky.

The now-deleted post featured an image of former NCAC Director-General, Olusegun Runsewe, symbolically striking Bobrisky with a stick, with the caption branding the crossdresser an “idiot” and asserting that “Nigeria is not Sodom and Gomorrah.”

In the caption, NCAC emphasized its role in guiding youth away from “derailing” behaviors, adding, “God bless the Republic of Nigeria.” The post was removed shortly after it attracted attention on social media.

The incident follows a series of high-profile encounters involving Bobrisky. Recently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained her after she was removed from an airplane while attempting to leave the country.

Bobrisky shared a video of her injured arm on Instagram, requesting help and claiming mistreatment during the incident.

The controversy escalated after activist VeryDarkMan released an audio clip purportedly of Bobrisky claiming she had paid EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charges against her—a claim Bobrisky has denied, threatening legal action against VeryDarkMan.

The crossdresser’s legal troubles have attracted significant attention. Two weeks ago, Bobrisky was arrested at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to flee Nigeria and was later transferred to the Lagos FCID for investigation.

Adding to the complications, Bobrisky, along with the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), is currently under investigation by a House of Representatives committee regarding bribery allegations.

This scrutiny is in line with Runsewe’s 2019 statement labelling Bobrisky a “national disaster” and warning of the crossdresser’s perceived influence on Nigerian youth.
