Regarded as one of Nigeria’s finest administrators of his generation, the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State bestrode the Nigerian political landscape like a colossus. He was the first to be elected two times as Governor of Oyo State, hence his nickname – Koseleri of Oyo State.

Over four years since his demise, late Ajimobi has continued to live on, a part because of his legacies. In addition, late Ajimobi family led by his beautiful wife, Florence and the children are doing a lot to keep his legacy alive. Idris Ajimobi, the only son of the late Governor of Oyo State is gradually stepping into his late father’s shoes.

The younger Ajimobi who contested the Ibadan South-West Constituency 11 seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general elections has stepped up his political game.

Best known for his quiet lifestyle, Idris Abolaji Abiola-Ajimobi aka IAAA, made his late father proud a few days ago when he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the Senior Special Assistant on Livestock Development (Office of the President). Idris’ appointment follows the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development. Before his appointment, Idris has carved a niche for himself as a top investor in the Nigerian private sector.

He is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, MD/CEO of Grandeur Real Estate Limited, a thriving real estate development company. His real estate company, Grandeur is the brains behind the luxury residential estate known as Akora Estate located inside Wemaboard Estate, Adeniyi Jones, in Ikeja area of Lagos.

Idris is expected to bring his wealth of experience to help the President actualize his Livestock reforms and the agenda of the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development. Described as a patriot, Idris holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the prestigious Kings College in London, United Kingdom.

Following in his late father’s footsteps, Idris Abiola-Ajimobi has aspirations to build on his late father’s legacies. According to Idris, it has always been his childhood dream to serve humanity. He now has an opportunity to live his childhood dream.
