The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, received the 20 rescued medical students at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Sunday, as he’s expected to hand them over to their loved ones.
The medical students from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos were travelling to Enugu State for the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students’ annual convention when they were kidnapped by bandits on August 15, 2024.
The students were, however, rescued on Friday.
The students were accompanied by their parents, guardians, a representative of the Benue State Governor, and the Vice Chancellors of the two universities.
