INEC To Open Portal Ahead Of Edo, Ondo Governorship Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the portal for the engagement of election staff (INECPRES) for the September 21st governorship election in Edo and Ondo States will open from Monday, 15th July 2024, to Monday, 19th August 2024.

Naija News understands that the INECPRES is for registration of Election duty for these categories of Ad-hoc staff: (Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs), and RAC Managers.

INEC, in a publication via its official X handle on Friday, said the online application will be available on its official website for both the mobile app and the web application.

“The web version (for use with a laptop, desktop, or at a cyber café) will be accessible via the portal URL [http://pres.inecnigeria.org].

“The Android mobile app (for Android phone users only) will be accessible via the link [https://inecpres-app.com],” the electoral commissioner noted.

Prior to this announcement, INEC revealed via its X handle that Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) were not left behind in the last voter registration exercise that took place in Edo State between 27th May and 9th June 2024.

The commission shared pictures of PWDs that were registered during the exercise at the Oredo Local Government Area.

“The National Commissioner supervising Edo, Delta and Cross Rivers States, Prof. Rhoda Gumus, and the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, witnessed the activity,” INEC noted.
