It Is Ungrateful To Send ‘Seen’ After Receiving A Favour – Kanayo O Kanayo

Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kanayo O Kanayo has berated people who exhibit a nonchalant attitude after receiving favours from others.

Speaking via his Instagram account on Monday, the thespian criticised the response of “seen” after receiving money as a sign of ungratefulness.

He insisted that people who carried out such an act are entitled.

The veteran said, “I have one question. Why are people very ungrateful?

“You do somebody a favour by sending him or her money, and the person receives it and sends you a text with ‘seen.”

The actor further blamed such a response as “inheritance mentality,” where people expect help as a right, not a courtesy.

Seen? Come on! You think it’s your right? That’s an inheritance mentality; people are like this, and it doesn’t show that you are grateful,” he added.

Kanayo urged people to express gratitude, saying that it encourages the giver to do more

He opined that when one is quiet after receiving a gift means that person is ungrateful.

He said, “Look, gratitude unspoken is ingratitude spoken. It’s not your right; learn to be grateful for whatever somebody does for you.

“That way, the person will be encouraged to do more. Stop being selfish; be grateful nobody owes you anything.”
