Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his excitement after playing a key role in AC Milan’s impressive UEFA Champions League victory against Club Brugge, at the San Siro stadium on Tuesday night.
The match showcased Milan’s strength as they triumphed over the Belgian Pro League champions with a score of 3-1.
Samuel Chukwueze made his entrance into the match in the 60th minute, coming on as a substitute for the talented Portuguese international, Rafael Leão. His impactful presence on the field was quickly felt as he assisted Tijjani Reijnders in scoring AC Milan’s third goal.
In reflecting on his performance, the 25-year-old winger shared, “It’s a great moment for me to find my confidence again. This past month has been challenging, but not only scoring but also providing an assist has boosted my morale significantly. It’s a fantastic feeling to contribute to our team’s success.”
The victory held substantial significance, as Chukwueze pointed out, “This win is very important for both the team and the club. We managed to secure crucial points, and now we have the opportunity to climb higher in the league standings.”
AC Milan will face a formidable challenge in their next UEFA Champions League fixture against the reigning champions, Real Madrid. But before then, the Italian side will face Bologna in the league on Saturday, October 26.
Ahead of Milan’s next two fixtures, Chukwueze said, “I hope to secure a win against Madrid, as we must gather points in our group. However, maintaining focus on our upcoming game against Bologna is paramount right now.”
