Whiskey brand, Jameson, said it is removing cartons in its outer packaging in the company’s latest sustainability move.

According to a statement, the brand’s decision to quit using cartons is in line with the efforts of its parent company, Pernod Ricard Nigeria, to reduce its carbon footprint.

The brand said it took the initiative to minimise waste and lessen environmental impact by significantly reducing the use of paper and cardboard in production, offering a more eco-friendly packaging solution.

The Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Nigeria, Michael Ehindero, stated that the company was mindful of the environmental impact of its business activities and that the removal of the carton was a clear demonstration of its commitment to protecting the environment through sustainable practices.

“We are constantly exploring new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and promote environmentally friendly practices throughout our operations,” Ehindero declared.

According to Pernod Ricard Nigeria, it works with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to promote sustainable development in Nigeria.

The Head of Portfolio, Bond & Connect, Pernod Ricard Nigeria, Bodam Taiwo, emphasised that by working together, the company and its stakeholders could reduce their environmental impact and promote sustainability.

“This initiative is another facet of our sustainability agenda, and we are excited to continue innovating for the benefit of our environment,” Taiwo asserted.
