Jigawa state government hosted the National Qur’anic recitation completion, which was participated exclusively by orphans from 28 federation states.

The competition, organised by the Aytam International Foundation, was designed to encourage and support orphans in their search for education and give them a sense of belonging to society.

Speaking at the closing ceremony and awarding prizes for the two-week competition, the Jigawa state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, said that organising such a competition will help promote religious knowledge and moral discipline among the young generation.

“ This is a moral booster for children who lost their parents to be more determined in seeking knowledge, and also a challenge for every child and parents to understand knowledge is the key to effective moral discipline and successful social and economic life for every human being.”

“We have introduced many policies and programs, including Tsangaya Board, to improve our Qur’anic school system and tackle the menace of child street begging in line with our 22-point agenda.”

“So, we appreciate the organiser of this competition, and I assure you that Jigawa state will continue to support you and give you all necessary assistance for sustaining the program in Nigeria, “ Governor Namadi stated

In his speech, the National Coordinator of the Competition, Dr Mubarak Ahmad, said, “The 3rd edition of the Musabaka was hosted by Jigawa state after the wife of the state governor, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, indicated interest in facilitating the process last year.”

“Her Excellency Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi declared and blessed the opening session of the competition. Today, his Excellency Governor Namadi is with us for the closing and the prize given to the winners. This is unprecedented physical and moral support we have ever received from any state.”

Dr Murak then commended the Jigawa state government for all the support and prayed to Almighty Allah to help and guide the governor in his dream of making Jigawa state prosperous and great.
