Turkish giants, Fenerbahce have emerged as the latest contenders in the race to acquire Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Serie A giants Napoli.
This interest comes after Portuguese tactician, José Mourinho, urged the management of Fenerbahce to intensify their efforts in securing Osimhen’s services, highlighting his desire to enhance the team’s attacking options.
According to a report by Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Mourinho has expressed a keen interest in bringing Osimhen into the squad, stating that the club is prepared to pursue this significant transfer option. Fenerbahce appear determined to initiate discussions with Napoli regarding a deal, further underlining their ambitions in the Turkish Super Lig.
Osimhen has made a remarkable impact since joining Galatasaray in September, showcasing his exceptional skills and goal-scoring ability. His performances have not only delighted the club’s supporters but have also drawn attention from a host of top European clubs, including Chelsea.
Additionally, rumours have surfaced about potential lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs, adding further complexity to his future.
Despite his relatively recent arrival at Galatasaray, the 25-year-old forward has forged a profound connection with the fanbase, which was exemplified when he committed to fulfilling his loan obligation following his impressive brace against rival club Besiktas in a high-stakes Istanbul derby.
However, this commitment will be tested in January, as it will require considerable determination from Osimhen and his representatives, along with Napoli, to turn down any substantial financial offers that may arise.
