Manchester City forward, Julian Alvarez has announced that he will make a decision regarding his future with the club after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Julian Alvarez, 24, is currently representing Argentina at the Olympics. He is set to make his third start for his national team as they face Ukraine in Lyon later today, July 30.

When questioned about his future with Manchester City, Alvarez, who extended his contract with the club until 2028 in March 2023, said, “There is a lot of talk. I am focused here [at the Olympics] because it is a short tournament.

“At Manchester City, I feel very good, I played a lot of minutes. But we will see after the Games. First, if I can, I will take a few days off. Then we will decide.”

Even though he was mostly used as a substitute during the 2024-2025 season, Julian Alvarez expressed contentment with his season.

He said, “Maybe it’s annoying to be out in big games, players always want to help on the pitch. But my season was good, so I’m very happy.”

City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, currently on a pre-season tour in the United States, has acknowledged Alvarez’s contemplation of his future.

Guardiola said, “I read he has to think about it, so OK, think about it and after that he will inform us what he wants to do.”

Alvarez is currently linked with a series of top clubs in Europe, including Atletico Madrid and Chelsea. Manchester City might not hesitate to sell him this summer if any of his suitors pay his price tag, which is over £50 million.
