Former President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a condolence visit to the North-Eastern state.
Naija News reports that this was made known on Tuesday in a statement on X by Buhari’s Media Aide, Garba Shehu.
The former President was received at the Maiduguri Airport by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and Senator Ali Ndume, the lawmaker representing Borno South in the Senate.
Former President Buhari is in the state to commisserate with residents over the devastating flood that took lives and destroyed properties.
Garba Shehu wrote: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Maiduguri, Borno State, into the warm hands of Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume and other political and government leaders in the state.
“The former president was away on vacation when the state suffered the recent devastating floods and is here to personally commisserate with the Shehu of Borno, the government, and the people of the state following the tragic incident.”
