Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has directed all recently reassigned commissioners to complete the handover of their responsibilities by Tuesday, December 17, 2024, ensuring a smooth transition before the close of business.

The directive, confirmed through a Sunday press statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, stressed that the cabinet reshuffle will take full effect during the next council meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

“All commissioners affected by the changes are directed to hand over their responsibilities between Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th December 2024,” the statement highlighted.

Yusuf also stressed the importance of completing all transition processes within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring minimal disruption to government operations.

In his message to the state executive council, the governor called for renewed dedication and teamwork, urging members to uphold a strong commitment to supporting the administration in delivering on its promises to the people of Kano State.

“The spirit of teamwork, dedication, and commitment remains crucial for achieving our collective goal of serving the good people of Kano,” the statement added.

The cabinet reshuffle is part of the governor’s plan to improve governance.

PUNCH Online, last Thursday, reported that the Kano governor scrapped the office of chief of staff, dropped the secretary to the state government, and sacked five commissioners.
