Kano Gov, Yusuf Makes Fresh Appointments, Reassigns Others

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has announced the appointment and redeployment of several heads of agencies and special advisers.

Naija News reports that this was disclosed in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, on Sunday.

The statement confirmed that all appointments and reassignments take immediate effect.

Among the newly appointed officials are Dr. Ibrahim Musa, a renowned public health expert and hematologist, who will serve as Special Adviser on Health Services and the Governor’s Personal Physician, and popular Kannywood star Sani Musa Danja, who has been named Special Adviser on Youth and Sports.

Dr. Hadiza Lawan Ahmad has been appointed Special Adviser on Investment and Public-Private Partnership, while Barr. Aminu Hussain will serve as Special Adviser on Justice and Constitutional Matters.

Other appointments include: Dr. Ismail Lawan Suleiman, Special Adviser on Population; Nasiru Isa Jarma, Special Adviser on NGOs; Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho, Permanent Commissioner I at SUBEB; Hon. Ado Danjummai Wudil, Executive Secretary of the Guidance and Counselling Board; Dr. Binta Abubakar, Executive Secretary of the Agency for Mass Education; Hon. Abubakar Ahmad Bichi, Director General of the Cottage and Street Hawking Agency.

Additionally, Governor Yusuf appointed Hon. Abdullahi Yaryasa as a member of the Assembly Service Commission and Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo as Executive Chairman of the Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination body.

The governor also reassigned several political office holders to new roles, including: Hon. Kabiru Getso Haruna, Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board; Hon. Rabi’u Saleh Gwarzo, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB); Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Library Board; Dr. Abubakar Musa Yakubu, Medical Director of the Government House Clinic; Yusuf Jibrin Oyoyo, Special Adviser on Students’ Matters; Hon. Isa Musa Kumurya, Special Adviser on Marshals; Hajia Fatima Abubakar Amneef, Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilization; Comrade Nura Iro Ma’aji, Special Adviser on Employment.
