Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has extended a hand of solidarity to flood victims in Borno State, presenting a ₦100 million cheque to support recovery efforts.

Radda, on behalf of the government and people of Katsina, visited Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Wednesday to offer condolences and aid in the wake of the recent devastating floods.

During the visit, Governor Radda handed over the donation to Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, noting that the funds were meant to assist those affected by the disaster.

“We are here to commiserate with you and the people of Borno State over the unfortunate flood incident, which has severely impacted social and economic activities in the state,” Radda said.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, the governor expressed deep concern over the scale of the disaster, describing it as one of the most severe in recent times.

“This is one of the most serious disasters that has affected our country and Borno in particular. We hope Almighty Allah provides comfort, and we pray such a tragedy does not befall any other part of our nation,” the statement read.
Responding, Governor Zulum expressed heartfelt appreciation to Radda and the people of Katsina for their generous gesture.

“This act of kindness in our time of need exemplifies the unity and brotherhood that exists among Nigerians. Your support will significantly aid our recovery efforts and bring relief to those affected by the floods,” Zulum remarked.

Radda was accompanied by prominent figures, including the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Umar; the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Daura; and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Tsauri.
