The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has officially resumed office after a one-month break.
PUNCH Online reported that Radda handed over the mantle of leadership of the state to his Deputy, Faruk Lawal and proceeded to a month’s break on 18th July 2024.
A statement by Radda’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, while highlighting the aims of the governor’s visit to the Republic of People of China upon assumptions of office, said, “This working visit marks Governor Radda’s first official assignment following his return from one-month constitutional leave, during which Deputy Governor Mallam Faruk Lawal Jobe served in an acting capacity.
“As part of his administration’s efforts to foster global partnerships, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has embarked on a five-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China.
“The Governor, accompanied by key government officials, will be in the country from August 18th to 23rd, 2024, to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations.
“The Katsina Governor was received at Daxing International Airport, Beijing, by William Lui, who will be hosting the delegation during their stay.”
On the entourage of the governor were his Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Turaji; the Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmed Bakori; the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Adnan Habu; and the Lead Consultant, Haroun Gana.
The governor and his team are expected to meet with Chinese government officials, investors, and various manufacturers of heavy-duty equipment and agricultural implements.
