There is tension among members of the Anglican Church in Abia State following the reported kidnapping of some delegates who were on their way to Abuja for a church programme.

DAILY POST gathered that the delegates, who left Isiala Ngwa Diocese of the Anglican Communion, were kidnapped by unknown hoodlums in Kogi State on their way to attend the Divine Commonwealth Conference (DIVCCON) Church of Nigeria in the Federal Capital Territory.

The victims, who were said to be six in number, were kidnapped alongside the driver conveying them to the annual religious event.

It is not known if the families of the victims have established contact with the families of the Abia Anglican delegates or if they have been freed.

However, a simple message circulated on a sub-platform of one of the Archdeaconries in Umuahia Diocese confirmed the kidnapping incident.

The message called for urgent prayers for the release of the delegates.

The news of the delegates’ abduction has created fear among the faithful in Isiala Ngwa and other dioceses, with fervent prayers being declared for their safe release.
