Kogi Council Poll: Lokoja PDP Chairmanship candidate, Chado lambast Gov Ododo

The Lokoja Local Government Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in the October 19 Council election, Yunusa Chado, has described the just concluded exercise as a charade, which he claimed further exposed the insincerity of Governor, Ahmed Ododo on credibility and justice.

Chado in a statement on Sunday said the so-called state Independent Electoral Commission, has eventually proven the apprehension of the opposition parties that they are merely puppets in the hands of their employer, the state Governor.

“I am completely disappointed in the government of APC led by Ahmed Usman Ododo. Since his assumption to office, Kogites have seen his policies, programs and actions to be people driven. But we are highly disappointed in his inability to stage manage the rigging of October 19, 2024 local government council elections that led to the murder of an innocent okada rider in Lokoja Local Government Area by the APC thugs.”

“We have loved and cherished the governor’s mode of governance, for some of us, we believed Kogi is on the path to sustainable development, empowerment and the good welfare of our civil servants. Regrettably, whatever we conceived as an attribute of a good governor is dashed away by the insensitive attitude of the executive governor of Kogi State. No office is worth the life of another man.”

“My aspiration is anchored on the welfare of our people who have suffered untold hardship in the hands of APC led Government. We can’t be deterred by the shady arrangement of the failed trio, State Government, SIEC and security in an attempt to subvert the collective will of the electorates.”

“This is another form of appointing caretaker committee to serve as elected chairmen. It will be vehemently resisted as the supreme Court has ruled against the constitution of caretaker committee as being constituted in Kogi state.”

“A state that has a governor, deputy governor, speaker of state Assembly, members of house of assembly, commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior special assistants, house of representatives members, senators and a minister with hosts of other appointees too numerous to mention and yet be afraid of conducting a common local government council elections. Indeed, there is a problem,” he added.

He further insisted that the actions of both the governor and the electoral commission, further showed how deceptive and ridiculous they can be, when it comes to equity and justice.

“I want the world to know that I won the election that the materials were hidden in the government house because they knew I would win

He, however, urged his supporters to be calm and not to take law into their hands.
