Kora, a pan-African business payments infrastructure provider, hosted its first Sundown Session in Lagos. The session brought together fintech leaders to discuss growth strategies for B2B fintech across Africa.

The company said in a statement on Monday that the event featured panel discussions on adaptive growth and scaling strategies in the rapidly expanding African fintech market.

The first panel, titled “Adaptive B2B Strategies for African Fintechs,” focused on strategies for succeeding in the competitive B2B landscape.

Panelists included music executive and Nigerian rapper Jude MI Abaga; Head of Sales at Transactworld Digital, Oladapo Sadibo; Divisional Head of Payments and Solutions at FCMB, Frank Atat; and the CEO and Founder of PayOnus, Oyinye Olisah.

Speaking after the event, Kora’s Founder and CEO, Dickson Nsofor, said, “African fintech is witnessing incredible growth. With Kora Sundown Sessions, we are creating a relaxed and connected experience where attendees can hear directly from the operators driving these changes and leave with ideas to enhance their work.”

He continued, “Each panelist has been at the forefront of building fintech products in Africa and brings invaluable insights. It is really great to have them share these insights in the connected environment that Kora Sundown Sessions provides.”

Following the discussions, attendees engaged in a networking session, building new relationships and sparking fresh ideas that aim to propel Africa’s fintech industry forward.

Organisers said Kora Sundown Sessions is set to become a regular series, amplifying the voices and visions shaping the fintech sector in Africa and fostering deeper connections within the community.

The second panel, “Unicorns and Blitzscaling in Africa: Product, Processes, and People,” explored strategies for scaling fintech companies to industry giants.

Moderated by Arise News host Oseni Rufai, panelists included CEO of BudPay, Somto Ifezue; Chief Executive Officer of Piggyvest, Wale Hassan; Chief Executive Officer of Zone, Obi Emetarom; Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales and Partnerships at Moniepoint, Ifeanyi Duru.

The discussion highlighted the key elements necessary for fintechs to expand rapidly—building resilient teams, sustainable products, and effective processes.
