Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commiserated with the Sarakis on the death of their matriarch, Mrs Florence Saraki.
Mama Saraki, mother of President of the 8th Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, died on Tuesday.
The governor, in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, particularly commiserated with the Dr Saraki and the rest of the family on the passing their of their matriarch.
He urged the Sarakis to be consoled by the fine legacies of the Mrs Saraki.
Governor AbdulRazaq prayed to God to repose the soul of Mrs Florence Saraki and uphold the family after her death.
Also, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has commiserated with the former Senate President over the death of his mother.
Sulu-Gambari described the deceased as a wondeful mother, a great philanthropist and virtuous wife of the Dr. Olusola Saraki, the late Waziri of Ilorin.
The Emir’s message was signed by his spokesman, Mal. Abdulazeez Arowona.
The Emir also extended his condolences to both immediate and extended family members of the deceased, stressing that, “the late Mrs Florence Morenike Saraki lived a fulfilled life with numerous accomplishments.”
In a similar vein, the Agbaji Development Association (ADA) said it received the news of the demise of Mama Saraki with heavy heart but total submission to the will of Allah.
“For us at the Agabaji Development Association, the demise of our Mother is not just a loss to the Saraki family but to the entire Agbaji community and by extension, Ilorin and Owo towns considering her love, care and kindness that trancends all boundaries.
“In this moment of grieve, we comiserate with our leader, the former President of Senate and Waziri of Ilorin, Senator Bukola Saraki, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Mr. Olaolu Saraki, the entire Saraki family and the good people of Owo over the demise of the Owo Princess.
“Mama Morenike will be remembered as a strong pillar of support, a mother who loved and raised great leaders in the persons of the former Senate President and Senator Gbemisola Saraki,both whom have positively impacted on the lives of Kwarans and Nigerians,” the association said in a statement jointly signed by its president, Mal. Yunus AbdulKadir, and public relations officer, Alabi Tajudeen.
