Real Madrid’s new signing, Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he wouldn’t have a problem playing with Vinicius Junior who has risen as the club’s talisman in the last two seasons.
Kylian Mbappe was the talisman at Paris Saint Germain in the last three seasons and he is used to being the centre of attention. But he has to share that with other fast-rising football icons like Vinicius and Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.
Note that Vinicius and Bellingham are seen as the frontrunners for the 2024 Ballon d’Or due to their unprecedented contributions to Real Madrid’s success last season, a campaign in which they won the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish La Liga.
Apart from sharing the fame with the aforementioned youngsters, Mbappe might have to adjust his playing style to fit into the same starting lineup alongside Vinicius except the Brazilian winger decides to change his for the Frenchman.
Note that Vinicius love to operate as a left-winger, the same position Mbappe loves to operate from. However, the Frenchman can also play as a centre-forward, a position he is expected to control at the Spanish giants.
But that could also be a problem for Rodrygo who has been playing in that position since Karim Benzema left for the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad.
During his unveiling at the Santiago Bernabéu earlier today, Mbappe said: “Vinicius texted me and told me to come, to join Real Madrid!”
“I can’t wait to play with him, Bellingham and all the other top players at the club.”
The Frenchman added: “Vinicius is a great player and I’m very happy to play with him. Also with Rodrygo and everyone. Great players are made to play together.
“I will have no problem playing with Vinicius. He had perfect last seasons. Now I have to adapt to Vinicius, Rodrygo and everyone to help them.”
