Deeply saddened by the shocking news of the death of our dear colleague, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams who represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives.

“Adams, who served as the House Committee Chairman on Sports, was dedicated to delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents. He will be greatly missed in the House.

“I extend my sincere condolences to his immediate family, the people of the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, and Kaduna State as a whole. May God comfort everyone affected by this sad news and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he wrote on his X handle on Tuesday.

On his part, Abure said the death of late Adams was a rude shock to him, the party and Chikun/Kajuru constituency.

Julius Abure described Adams as a legislator who spoke truth to power even at his impressionable age.

The statement signed by LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiorah Ifoh read: “Though he was barely one year in office but his impact in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency and the entire Kaduna state was huge.

“Just few months ago, he donated transformers, cars and Motorcycles to communities and individuals within his constituency and also empowered all the ward chairmen and several women from his constituency across political divides within his constituency with huge sums of money. These philanthropic gestures, he told me, was in fulfillment of his campaign promises.

“In the floor of the National Assembly, he was a notable voice and had defended the voiceless through his motions. He also made invaluable contributions to the party and offered great advice to me in party affairs.

“On behalf of the leadership and the entire members of the party who have been mourning this great personality we offer our condolences to his immediate family, the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, the Kaduna State government and the nation over this painful demise.

“We pray that God will give all of us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss; and that his soul will rest on the bosom of the Lord.
