Lagos task force, Army collaborate on security

The Nigerian Army and the Lagos Task Force have partnered to improve security in Lagos State.

This was revealed in a statement released by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Lagos State Task Force, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem.

The statement noted that the Commander of the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Olawale Oyekola, pledged the Army’s support during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, at the agency’s headquarters on Tuesday.

“The Brigade Commander and his team were warmly received by the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, alongside other senior officers of the agency.

“During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening existing inter-agency synergy and fostering a healthy partnership between the Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Task Force. The conversation highlighted their shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Lagos.

“Oyekola commended Akerele for the impressive strides made in recent months, particularly in sanitising Lagos roads and ensuring a secure environment for all Lagosians,” the statement said.

He noted that the Nigerian Army  was ready to support the Lagos State Task Force in any capacity when the need arises, and pledged continued collaboration to further enhance security efforts across the state.

In response, Akerele expressed appreciation for the Nigerian Army’s unwavering support and reaffirmed the Task Force’s dedication to safeguarding the Lagos environment.

He also promised to do all within his capacity to strengthen the partnership with all relevant agencies.

“Both leaders emphasised the importance of maintaining close ties between the military and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safer city for all.

“The courtesy visit marks a continued commitment to operational cooperation and mutual support between the Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Task Force,” the statement added.
