The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State, Olamilekan Adeola, on Tuesday, reiterated his commitment to service and engagement tailored towards enhancing the socio-economic development of the district.
He stated this while inaugurating constituency projects in the Yewa North Local Government Area.
Among the projects were the ICT Centre at Ajoda High School, Ayetoro, and two health centres, one each at Sawonjo and Joga Orile.
Others were ultra-modern markets at Ibeshe and Oja-Odan, township roads at Imasayi and Joga Orile, and town hall, among others.
Represented by a former commissioner in the state, Mr Bolaji Oyeleye, Yayi said the projects were embarked upon to complement the efforts of the state government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, to make life more enjoyable for the people.
“We are actually doing all of these in fulfilment of our promises to be deeply involved in efforts that will make life much more rewarding for our people.
“You have given us the opportunity to represent your interest at the Senate and this we shall continue to do with the best of intentions because the people must always be at the centre of all that we do.
“Our essence in politics must always be to advance the welfare of the people,” he said.
Adeola, popularly called Yayi, urged the people to take ownership of the projects and ensure their good use.
Speaking at the event, the member of the state House of Assembly representing Yewa North Constituency 1, Adeyanju Adegoke (Awoso), appreciated the governor for supporting Yayi to serve the people.
The Olu of Sawonjo, Oba Michael Oderinde, said the health facility stood as a testament to Yayi’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
He posited that the health centre would significantly enhance the quality of life and contribute to the overall well-being of residents of the agrarian community.
