The Ogun State Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Olumide Onabanjo, has joined the race for the Ifo Local Government chairmanship election.
Onabanjo noted that his decision followed the dire need to breathe new life, address the needed change, and bring about development in the society.
He expressed worry that the Ifo Local Government has been neglected for long, lacking basic amenities and infrastructure.
Onabanjo, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST, said his agenda lies under the acronym ARISE; accountability, rehabilitation, inclusivity, security and empowerment.
He said “I am committed to instituting a culture of transparency and accountability in the governance of Ifo Local Government. Every decision and action taken on behalf of our people will be transparent, open, and in alignment with our collective aspirations.
“It is time to restore the infrastructure and basic amenities that have been neglected for far too long. Our roads, schools, hospitals, markets, and other vital facilities will undergo meticulous rehabilitation, ensuring they meet the highest standards of functionality.
“Safeguarding and protecting our people and their properties is of utmost importance. With an unwavering commitment to security, we will work collaboratively with relevant agencies to curb crime, promote community-oriented policing, and restore peace and harmony across Ifo Local Government.
“I implore you to rally behind this vision, as we embark on this journey towards constructive change. Together, let us ARISE and make Ifo Local Government a shining example of what can be achieved through determined and inclusive governance.”
