Lookman returns for Inter clash today

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman will return to the Atalanta squad for their Serie A clash with Inter Milan at the San Siro on Friday (today).

The Nigeria international is back in action for the Black and Blues after his first-team involvement was briefly disrupted by transfer speculations, klinking him with a move to PSG.

According to reports on Wednesday, the 27-year-old has resumed full training with the rest of the team and will be available for selection against the Nerrazzurri.

The interest from PSG, which intensified in August, appears to have cooled, and the UEFA Europa League hero is now poised to remain with Atalanta for the 2024/25 season.

However, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini may have to adjust his plans due to a setback with summer recruit Nicolo Zaniolo. The former Roma attacker has sustained a muscular strain in his left adductor, making him doubtful for a starting role.

Lookman’s return to full training is a significant boost for Atalanta, as his presence will be crucial in their second win in as many games into the new campaign against the defending Serie A champions.
