The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has called on the national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to employ comprehensive approach in implementing the recommendations of its reconciliation committee.
Makinde praised the national body of the party for setting up such a reconciliation committee comprising highly respected leaders of PDP with vast political experiences in and outside of government.
He expressed hope that the reconciliation committee with former two-term governors of Osun and Gombe states, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Ibrahim Dankwambo as the Chairman and Secretary of the committee respectively and other eminent personalities, would come up with recommendations that would help the party strengthen it and reposition it for future elections.
Makinde stated this at the PDP National Reconciliation Committee’s press briefing held at the Agodi Government House in Ibadan.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal, emphasised the importance of unity and collective effort within the party to achieve the primary aim of the committee.
He stressed the need for the national body of the party to ensure that the outcome of the committee’s assignment was duly and holistically implemented to avoid any setback in the efforts to reposition the party ahead of future elections.
