Man causes stir, says Nigerians can connect to SLTV decoder with their DSTV dish

A Nigerian youth, Ashams Francis, has said existing DSTV users can switch to SLTV without discarding their dishes.

SLTV's popularity has surged in reaction to Multichoice's increased subscription for its GOTV and DSTV product packages.

Despite an increase in the price of an SLTV decoder, Nigerians are still buying the satellite TV, which is now seen as a cheaper alternative to DSTV and GOTV.

In a Facebook post, Francis said existing DSTV users can connect their dishes to their new SLTV decoders and save up money that would have been spent on buying a new dish. Francis wrote:

Lady displays 56 channels on SLTV

In other news, a lady had excitedly displayed a list of channels she enjoys on SLTV after dumping DSTV.

@flourishbidex shared a video which contained a list of all the 56 channels SLTV offers. She marvelled that SLTV only charges N5k for its subscription and gave her one month free. The channels included football, movies, and wrestling.

She lamented wasting her money subscribing to DSTV and bade the decoder goodbye.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian journalist, Buchi Laba, had named two channels SLTV doesn't have as he explained why he still uses DSTV.

Many Nigerians abandoned DSTV for cheaper alternative Silver Lake Television (SLTV) after Multichoice increased its subscription price.

For Buchi, SLTV can't win him over because they don't have Super Sports Action and Maximo channels. He noted that DSTV also has the UFC channel. He criticised Multichoice for increasing the price of its DSTV and GOtv subscriptions.
