Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has publicly pledged ₦50 million to anyone who can prove he benefited from government contracts during his brother’s tenure as governor.
In a video posted to his Instagram account on Saturday, Fayose asserted that his accomplishments resulted from divine blessings, not government contracts or influence from his sibling’s political position.
His statement comes amid growing speculation about his business ventures and connections, a topic he appears determined to put to rest.
Fayose spoke partly in pidgin in the video, saying, “Many of you come and say I’m spending Ekiti money. My brother did not give me any single job as a governor, I repeat and I’m saying it boldly.
“If any of you can find where I get one single contract from my brother, I will give you N50 million. All of you, even my success in life, you attach it to Ekiti, to my brother. It is a fat lie.”
Fayose expressed frustration over people assuming he is spending Ekiti money, reiterating that his brother never gave him any contracts.
He added, “I personally didn’t take any single contract from my brother. Come out and say it boldly, he should say it, anywhere they see me or see my name or my company take contract from Ekiti. I have never, I am not a contractor.
“I am a trader, I am a business man and I have always believed in me working but anywhere I go they say he is spending Ekiti money, we cover it because it doesn’t matter, but right now that they are now trying to say no you cannot talk, you should shut up, you should do this. No I will talk. I will stand for Ekiti people as long as I am alive.”
