Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed sadness over the departure of Emile Smith Rowe, who has officially joined Fulham.

The transfer deal was confirmed by both Premier League clubs on Friday, with Arsenal set to receive £27 million plus £7 million in add-ons for Smith Rowe.

In an interview with Arsenal’s official website, Mikel Arteta said he was sad that the player had to leave the Gunners as he wished the player all the best in his future endeavours.

“I’m sad that Emile is leaving us but excited for him to take this new opportunity at this stage of his career”, Mikel Arteta said.

“Emile is loved by everyone at Arsenal and leaves us with our gratitude, absolute respect and best wishes.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea are not happy that the club’s assistant captain, Conor Gallagher is not cooperating with them over his future at the club.

A report by TalkSport claimed that Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reportedly excluded Conor Gallagher from the club’s first-team squad.

This comes following Chelsea’s acceptance of a £33 million bid from Atletico Madrid for the England international. However, Gallagher has reportedly expressed his desire to leave on his terms.

Amid that, the 24-year-old midfielder, whose contract with Chelsea is set to expire in 2025, has turned down two recent contract extension offers from the club.

As a result, Chelsea have informed Gallagher that he will not be participating in first-team training upon their return from the pre-season tour of the United States.
