Kano Pillars forward Ahmed Musa is basking in the euphoria of making a scoring return for the former champions in their nervy 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes during a Nigeria Premier Football League match-day 18 game at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
After missing their last two games due to a knock, Musa returned to the Sai Masu Gida’s starting lineup and scored a stoppage time goal to seal a 2-1 win for Usman Abdallah’s men.
It was the Super Eagles forward’s sixth goal of the season and the win powered the former champions to seventh in the league table.
“Pure joy, hard work, and passion captured in a single frame! What a game, what a win—the emotions in the picture say it all. SAI MASU GIDA,” Musa wrote in the wake of the victory on Sunday with four images of his celebration.
Since rejoining Kano Pillars at the start of the season, Musa has been instrumental for the NPFL giants, netting six goals and providing two assists in 11 games.
Before Saturday’s game, Musa’s last appearance for Pillars was in their 1-0 defeat against Rivers United in Port Harcourt on December 1.
He missed the Northwest derby against Katsina United a week later in Kano and also sat out their 2-0 defeat against 3SC in Ibadan.
This season, he is the club’s second-highest goal scorer behind midfielder Rabiu Ali who has eight goals.
Kano Pillars’ next game is a visit to Maiduguri to face El-Kanemi Warriors.
