Singer, Lade has said that her latest song titled, ‘One by One’, was a gift from popular rapper and singer, Olamide.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the ‘Adulthood na scam’ crooner said, “The song was a gift from Olamide. He gave me the song in the studio. When he asked me to meet him at the studio, I went with my producer, expecting that we would work on a fresh song. I had initially sent him some tracks and was waiting for his verse. However, Olamide had already recorded the intro and chorus of ‘One by One’ before we arrived.
“When we got there, he asked if I liked what I was hearing, and I said ‘yes’. He then asked me to record a verse on the song. He stayed with me while I worked on my verse. After I finished, I approached him to ask about my verse. He replied, ‘Don’t you like this song? I’ll do a verse on this one and send it to you’.
“And that’s how the song came to be. I am very grateful for what he has done and the support he continues to give me.”
Recalling her memorable moments as a singer, she said, “I would say the waiting period—that moment when you’re working and hoping to get noticed by anyone at all—was both fun and challenging for me. It was tough because the reactions weren’t exactly encouraging at the beginning. However, I thank God for the grace to stay consistent and extend special thanks to my parents for their unwavering support during that waiting period.
“Also, the discovery stage—the stage where you’ve gained attention and are starting to understand what your fans like or don’t like, while also refining your sound and niche—has been significant.”
