My Staying Power, Passion, Helped Me In Music Industry – Savage Xtra

Savage Xtra , is an Afrobeats artiste who is very passionate about music and loves to tell his story in a unique and Nigerian way.

The musician whose real name is Uche Barry  in an interview with selected journalist noted that passion for music and his staying power drives him, having come from Niger Delta where creativity, a criteria for being artistic, is akin with.

Savage Xtra recently released his second studio album called ‘Young Blessed and Dangerous’ and it has fourteen tracks of which seven are collabos.

The musician from Oyibo in Rivers State, said he has what it takes to thrive in the music industry. “It’s been a long journey. It has been five years of consistency and I have done my homework as regards preparing for a successful career and pray that luck shines on me as I am ready to continue to sweat it out in the studio.  I am going to the next level, trust me.  and I’m still going. I don’t think I’m tired yet.

“For me, I am an up-and-coming artist and I have released two albums with the recent titled Young Blessed and Dangerous. Some of the tracks in the album include; Blessings Daily Prayers, Sanko, Nightmares, Feel my Legs I Pray and Delilah.

I have my eyes on the goal and a good team motivating to success. I have people I love and respect. I collaborated with amazing artistes on the project (album) and I’m very sure when you listen to their sound, you must definitely connect,” he said.

Speaking further, Savage Xtra whose role models are Davido and Burna Boy  said, “I got to that point in my life where I realised that the only time progress was happening was when I was trying to move with my music.

If I try to move without my music, it doesn’t proceed. Immediately I put music into the movement, things picked up. So, I said Okay, this is the work God wants me to do.”

He noted that outside music, he loves to do business and manage other musicians because of his love for the entertainment industry. Savage  Xtra said that this was his first time performing in Lagos and it’s thrilling for him.

“I just finished my second concert called OY to the World Carnival. It is a free concert. We hosted over about 7,000 people. So if all those people have come out of my hood to support me, that means I have what it takes to go to the next level.

Religious Fela is spiritual. Religious Fela is hardworking. Religious Fela is real. My music is original, you know, and I am not looking to copy anybody, I’m trying to come with my own style”.
