Napoli To Loan Victor Osimhen To Galatasaray

Italian Serie A club Napoli are currently in discussions with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray regarding a potential loan deal for Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen.

After failing to secure a move away from Napoli before the transfer deadline, Victor Osimhen’s future with the club remains uncertain even though his contract with the side expires on June 30, 2026.

The Nigerian international has been left out of Napoli’s Serie A squad, and manager Antonio Conte has implied that Osimhen may not be reintegrated into the team due to his initial request to leave.

Reports from Sky Sport Italia claimed that Napoli are now in talks to loan Osimhen to Galatasaray. It’s anticipated that Napoli may need to cover a significant portion of Osimhen’s €10 million per season salary as part of the deal. An alternative possibility is for Galatasaray to take on Osimhen’s wages without paying a substantial loan fee.

Note that while the transfer window of top leagues in Europe closed on September 30, the Turkish transfer window remains open until September 13, providing a potential timeframe for the completion of this loan deal.

Meanwhile, an Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport, reported that Liverpool had considered the prospect of signing Victor Osimhen during the 2024 summer transfer window. However, the club was deterred by the high salary demands of the 25-year-old Nigeria international.
