Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has slammed the National Assembly over the removal of the Senator representing Borno South senatorial district, Ali Ndume, as the Majority Whip.

Naija News reported that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during plenary on Wednesday, read a communication from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) demanding the replacement.

The letter, signed by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, accused Ali Ndume of activism and putting out acts that aimed to destroy the ruling party.

The letter further demanded that Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Borno North, replace Ndume.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio called on the APC caucus to vote on the demand of the APC leadership.

In the vote, the APC caucus voted in favour of the replacement of the Ndume.

Recall that last week, Ndume stated in an interview that the president was not in the picture of what was happening outside the Villa, alleging that the president had been fenced off and caged.

This triggered reactions from the pro-Tinubu camp, with Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) criticising his statement as derogatory.

In a post via his social media page, Dele Momodu, described the development as very sad and unfortunate, asking the National Assembly if President Bola Tinubu, cannot be criticized or advised by a ranking senator.

He wrote, “What manner of National Assembly is this!! So, PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU cannot be criticized and advised by a ranking SENATOR… Very sad and unfortunate..”
