The Group Managing Director of Nedcomoaks, Dr Kennedy Okonkwo, has restated the firm’s commitment to supporting the growth of the country’s housing sector.
He stated this on Thursday during the celebration of Nedcomooaks’s 20th anniversary in Lagos.
Okonkwo reflected on his journey from constructing a single bungalow in Oniru, Lagos, to delivering thousands of homes to Nigerians from various backgrounds.
“Today marks a remarkable moment in my life and the life of this organisation. Starting from a build-operate-transfer project in Oniru, we have grown into a trusted brand, shaping Nigeria’s real estate landscape. It is 20 years of being a property developer, and I’m grateful to God for bringing us this far,” he declared.
He emphasised the need for a collective effort from developers, government, and stakeholders to tackle Nigeria’s housing challenges.
“The housing deficit is a shared problem—yours, mine and the government’s. At Nedcomoaks, we are committed to making affordable housing accessible to all Nigerians, ensuring dreams of homeownership come true for young men and women alike,” he said.
Okonkwo also acknowledged challenges in the sector, such as trust issues with diaspora clients and market volatility.
He noted that investors must carry out due diligence when engaging developers.
“Integrity is the cornerstone of real estate. Before entrusting your money to any developer, verify their reputation and track record. At Nedcomoaks, we talk the talk and do the work,” he noted.
The company plans to lead a roadshow across 10 cities, including the UK, the US, and Canada, showcasing reputable Nigerian developers.
Dubbed the Invest in Africa Summit, the initiative aims to rebuild trust among diaspora clients and promote investment in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
“Our story is built on integrity, excellence, and professionalism. We want the world to know that there are great Nigerian developers delivering quality and affordable homes. Together, we can rewrite the narrative,” Okonkwo declared.
As Nedcomoaks enters its 30th year, the company remains focused on sustainability and innovation, striving to set higher standards in the real estate industry.
“Our track record speaks for itself. Integrity, not just in developers but in structures and processes, remains our guiding principle,” he concluded.
