Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) has taken steps to improve electricity in Gombe State, engaging with customers and addressing their concerns.
At a customer complaints resolution meeting organised by the commission in the state, the assistant general manager consumer affairs at NERC, Regina Osago, acknowledged common complaints such as metering issues and overbilling, assuring customers that meters can be obtained within 10 days of request.
She emphasised the importance of educating consumers on their rights, the rights of distribution companies (DISCOS), investment regulations and the operation of the sector.
The meeting according to her, provided a platform for customers to report their complaints and receive solutions, demonstrating NERC’s commitment to customer-centric service.
Chief Technical Officer of Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), Hamisu Wakili Jigawa, highlighted measures to safeguard transmission and distribution facilities, urging customers to avoid energy theft, report vandals, and pay bills promptly.
