New Festac Lions Club Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The New Festac Lions Club celebrated its 25th anniversary with a celebration highlighting its achievements and plans.

Lion Adeshola Oyegoke, the club’s 25th president, expressed her pride in the organisation’s progress and commitment to serving the community.

In her remarks, President Oyegoke acknowledged the club’s impact in FESTAC Town over the past 25 years, including initiatives such as decorating the town’s first gate. She emphasised the club’s dedication to addressing critical issues like childhood cancer, hunger relief, vision, drug abuse, and diabetes.

Past Council Chairperson of the New FESTAC Lions Club, Omolola Anobili, reflected on the organisation’s 25-years service history and community impact. She said, “Since its commissioning on March 15, 1999, the Club has made significant contributions to FESTAC Town and beyond. The club’s achievements include beautifying the town’s first gate, donating to communities in Amuwo Odofin, and supporting local schools, orphanages, and the Spinal Cord Injury Association.”

President Oyegoke praised Anobili for her inspiring leadership and vision, reaffirming the club’s goal to surpass its previous achievements and make a meaningful difference in the lives of over 500 youths in FESTAC Town.

Assistant Commander General, Narcotics, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mrs. Ibiba Odili, also spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of empowering youths to prevent drug abuse.
