Budding artiste, Afolami Sholanke, popularly known as Afosti, has said that his song titled, Ogologo, was inspired by his personal struggles and experiences in the music industry.

The song is contained in his latest album titled, Love and Pain, which was released recently.

Speaking in an interview with Sunday Scoop, the singer said, “The song was inspired by my journey in the music industry, and the struggles I have faced, including juggling school and music while ensuring I had enough money to fund both. The track also encourages listeners to spend time and money wisely, enjoy life, and never give up on God.”

Asked to describe his style of music, Afosti said, “I am not limited to one specific genre or style. My music is a blend of many patterns, coming together to form what I call ‘afro diversity’. My sound is similar to that of artistes like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Rema.”

The singer also called for more investment in the industry, saying, “One of the changes I wish to see in the music industry is the circulation of knowledge, and increased investment in artistes like me. I also want the government to invest more in entertainment, as Nigerian artistes continue to make impact all over the globe. Artistes are great assets to the nation, and I hope for more support.”

Afosti, who has 35 songs in his repertoire, is also a director at Gold Eye Records and Wheeze Limited. He has also collaborated with international artistes, such as Bizarre and Obie Trice; and hopes to work with industry giants, including Wizkid, Rema, Burna Boy, Jay Z, and Lil Wayne.
