The newly promoted English Premier League club, Ipswich Town, has signed Arijanet Muric, the goalkeeper of newly demoted side, Burnley.

Arijanet Muric started his professional football career at Manchester City on July 1, 2018, after graduating from the club’s youth system.

While at Manchester City, the 25-year-old goalkeeper from Kosovo, went on loan at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II, and Adana Demirspor.

After failing to establish himself at City, Arijanet Muric decided to leave the club on a permanent deal on July 22, 2022. In the said year, he moved to Burnley for a transfer fee worth €3 million.

In the 2022-2023 season, Muric helped Burnley to gain promotion to the English Premier League after conceding 31 goals and keeping 19 clean sheets in 41 Championship games.

Unfortunately for him and Burnley, he couldn’t help the club to remain in the Premier League beyond the 2023-2024 season.

The fact that he gave an outstanding account of himself at Burnley, even though his efforts weren’t enough to keep the club in the EPL, Ipswich Town are ready to bank on him in the forthcoming season.

Arijanet Muric has signed a two-year contract with Ipswich who are expected to pay Burnley an initial £10 million and then a potential £5 million in add-ons.

“I’m looking forward to getting started,” Muric told Ipswich Town TV after completing the move.

“I watched how the team played last season and feel the style will suit me very well, so this is the perfect move for me.”

Arijanet Muric is seen as a replacement for goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky who left Ispwhich after his contract with the club expired this summer.
