The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced a revised kick-off time for the highly anticipated international friendly match between the Super Falcons and their Algerian counterparts.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria vs Algeria international friendly will now begin at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 29, a change from the previously scheduled time of 4 PM.
This friendly encounter is set to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on the said date.
The adjustment in the kick-off time was made in response to the Algerian delegation’s travel plans, as they have indicated a preference to start their return journey to Algeria on Tuesday evening.
The NFF’s Head of International Competitions, Dayo Enebi Achor, explained the rationale behind the decision, stating, “This has necessitated us moving the match forward to ensure the encounter concludes early, allowing the Algerian team ample time to prepare for their journey to the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos for their return trip aboard Qatar Airways.”
In the prior friendly match that took place last Saturday, the Super Falcons showcased their prowess on the field, emerging victorious with a score of 2-0 against the Algerian Green Ladies.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was instrumental in this victory, netting both goals to secure the win for the three-time African champions. This ongoing series of matches highlights the competitive spirit and talent of Nigerian women’s football on the international stage.
