In a novel initiative, Nicotawines, Ofadaboy, and the Italian Embassy in Nigeria have joined forces to promote ‘enotourism’ (wine tourism) and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

In a statement sent to Society Plus, they noted that the partnership aims to elevate the country’s wine industry, while showcasing Italian fine wines, and fostering cross-cultural exchange.

A delegation of 20 top Nigerian wine vendors had embarked on an immersive journey to Italy, exploring wineries, such as Cantine Fina, Cantine Settecani, Andreola Prosecco Vadobbiadene, Cevico, Caviro, and Cantine Giacomo Montresor.

The experiential trip was arranged to enhance cultural understanding and exchange, showcase Italian wine production and expertise, unlock business opportunities for Nigerian wine professionals, promote authentic Italian wines in the country.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, the Managing Director of Ofadaboy, Oluwatobi Fletcher, said, “We seek to promote cultural exchange, food pairing engagements and showcase Italian excellence, while creating opportunities for Nigerian wine enthusiasts. This collaboration will elevate the reputation of Nigerian wine professionals and pave the way for future investments.”

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Nicotawines, Isesele Nicholas, said, “Our mission is to make luxury wines accessible to Nigerians, ensuring an exceptional experience at an affordable price. This partnership will also combat counterfeit production and enhance the importation process.”

In a similar vein, the Italian Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Italian wines in Nigeria, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between wine vendors and producers.
