A northern group, Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has commiserated with the governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago and the people of the state over the recent flood disaster that ravaged Mokwa town, which left over 100 persons dead with thousands displaced and property worth millions destroyed.

In a condolence message issued through a press statement, the group described the natural disaster as tragic and unfortunate, lamenting the colossal loss of lives, property, and livelihood of the victims in the state.

The statement signed by the ATT convener, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, particularly condoled Governor Bago and the Mokwa community, urging them to remain steadfast in the face of the natural challenge.

“We pray to God for the repose of the victims’ souls and consolation to their families. We are indeed in empathy with the families that have lost loved ones and those displaced from their homes as a result of the flood disaster.

“While we are urging the federal government and its relevant agencies to adequately respond to the emergency, we want to call on well-meaning Nigerians, including the private sector to come to the aid of those affected.
