The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, has said the agency’s revenue rose by 74 per cent to N4.49 trillion in the last year.

Adeniyi disclosed this at a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja to mark his one-year in office.

Adeniyi noted that the Service’s revenue increased significantly to N4.49 trillion, compared to the N2.5 trillion recorded in the same period last year.

According to him, the Service is working closely with stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA.

He also stressed that the Service is committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s national security, and would continue its efforts to stamp out smugglers and economic saboteurs.

Recall that Adeniyi assumed office as Comptroller-General of the Customs Service in June 2023 after his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
