Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Christopher Musa has strengthened bilateral military collaboration with Slovakia on training, technology transfer and defence production capabilities.
General Musa yesterday paid an official visit to the Slovak Republic’s Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Bratislava.
A statement by the acting director of defence information, Brig-Gen Tukur Gusau, said the CDS and his entourage were received by Slovak CDS, Gen Daniel Zmeko and other senior officials.
The statement said, “The discussion focused on military training and capacity building as well as the acquisition of Defence equipment. Other areas are technology transfer and innovation, including modalities to enhance defence production capabilities.
“Both leaders emphasized deeper collaboration to tackle security challenges and improve military readiness.”
The CDS appreciated Slovakia for its support and highlighted opportunities for joint defence industrialization, while Gen Zmeko applauded Nigeria’s resilience and regional security leadership while pledging continued partnership.
On arrival, the Nigerian delegation was honoured with a colourful guard of honour, inspected by the CDS.
Thus, the visit marked a significant milestone in Nigeria-Slovak defence relations, paving the way for long-term strategic cooperation.
