Nigerian basketball talent Adem Bona was selected No. 41 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Draft, marking a significant milestone in his career. Bona, a standout forward/center from UCLA, joins the 76ers under the new two-night draft format, being the sole Bruin picked this year.
Coach Mick Cronin praised Bona, stating, “The 76ers are getting a talented, hardworking, and driven young man who will be an asset to their organization. He has only scratched the surface of his basketball potential.”
During the 2023-2024 season, Bona showcased his skills, averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. His performance tied him for the best standing vertical leap in the NBA Draft Combine, underscoring his athleticism and defensive capabilities.

Bona’s versatility was evident as he posted double-digit figures in 24 games, contributing both offensively and defensively. His high motor and ability to contest plays on the rim made him a key player for UCLA.
Adem Bona, is a 6’10” center from UCLA. He was a force on defense in college, earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. His size and defensive presence make him an intriguing prospect for the 76ers.
