Nigerian fencing prodigy, Inkosi Brou, makes All-American First Team selection

Teenage fencing sensation Inkosi Brou has become the first Nigerian to be selected for the prestigious All-American Fencing First Team.

The 16-year-old was handpicked by USA Fencing from high school fencers who have demonstrated exceptional skills, leadership, and sportsmanship and have made a significant mark on the international stage.

The Nigeria Fencing Federation celebrated Inko’s remarkable accomplishment.

Currently ranked 55th in the Junior World Ranking and 74th in the Senior World Ranking, Inkosi’s ascent in the sport is nothing short of impressive.

His A24 rating further underscores his skill and commitment, making him a standout figure in fencing.

Beyond his athletic prowess, Inkosi is also the founder of the Fencing Diaspora Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing the next generation of youth fencers in Africa.

He has also participated in notable events, such as the North American Cup U-17 in Dallas,  and the 2023 ISFL High School League Championships,

Notably, Inkosi is the grandson of the late former Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Dora Akunyili.
