The PUNCH: The organisers of the #EndBadGovernance protest have demanded the release of 1,150 protesters allegedly arrested by the police during the first three days of the nationwide rallies. In response to the appeal by President Bola Tinubu to end the protest, which has claimed several lives, following his broadcast on Sunday morning, the organisers: Take It Back Movement, Youth Rights Campaign and the Creative Change Centre, in separate interviews with The PUNCH on Sunday, vowed to carry on with the demonstration, stating that Tinubu did not address their demands in his Sunday morning national broadcast.


Vanguard: Organisers of the nationwide protest against hardship, former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, and human rights activist, Femi Falana, SAN, have described as the hollow response of President Bola Tinubu to the protest which was on its fourth day yesterday.


ThisDay: Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, said some policy interventions were inevitable to put the economy on the right path and better the lives of citizens, even though such measures might face criticism in some quarters. Bagudu spoke against the backdrop of accusations that the ongoing protests across the country against “bad governance” had been fuelled by unpopular policies undertaken by the present administration.


The Nation: The few people who gathered at the Freedom Park in Lagos early in the day dispersed after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s broadcast. The Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja was also deserted.


Daily Trust: Prominent citizens like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and a number of civil society organisations (CSOs), yesterday, faulted the national broadcast by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he did not address the fundamental issues that triggered the #EndBadGovernance protest in the country. The protests, which commenced on Thursday, have claimed many lives and also resulted in the destruction of properties worth billions of naira.
