Security operatives in Zamfara State have arreated a woman identified as Shamsiyya, from the Yammacin area in Gusau, for being in possession of ammunition.
The female suspect was apprehended by Nigerian troops at checkpoint while attempting to transport ammunition from Hanka to a terrorists hideout.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the suspect confessed that someone gave her the ammunition to deliver.
"My name is Shamsiyya. I am a married woman, and my husband's name is Umar. I have never seen this kind of ammunition before now," she said.
She explained further, "The person who gave me the ammunition, I don’t know his name, but he was a Hausa man, and I had never seen him before."
When asked if she knew that the ammunition could kill, she admitted, "I know it can kill, but I was only told to deliver it to someone."
She said, "I know the ammunition can kill someone, but I didn’t know what was inside the package they gave me to deliver. I have two kids, and I don’t want them to be harmed. However, I was unaware that it was ammunition inside the package."
According to her, she was given transport fare to deliver the package but was not informed about its contents.
